Antony Matheus dos Santos (born February 24, 2000) is a Brazilian professional footballer who plays as a winger for Premier League club Manchester United and the Brazil national team.
Antony came through So Paulo’s development system and scored six goals in 52 first-team appearances. He joined Ajax in 2020 and scored 25 goals in 82 appearances while winning two Eredivisie championships and a KNVB Cup. He joined Manchester United in September 2022, for which they paid a cost of more than £80 million.
Anthony has a son.
Antony and Rosilene had their first child, a son called Lorenz, on the 8th of November 2019.
Antony’s monthly salary would be almost €1 million, or £200,000 (€232,000) each week.
At the 2020 Summer Olympics, Antony earned a gold medal with Brazil’s under-23 squad. In October 2021, he scored in his senior international debut against Venezuela.
Ajax revealed on August 30, 2022, that they had struck a deal with Manchester United for Antony’s move.
His initial transfer fee was estimated to be £81.3 million, plus a further £4.27 million in add-ons. He signed a deal through 2027 two days later, with the option of an extra year.
After Paul Pogba and Romelu Lukaku, he became United’s third most expensive acquisition.
