Hafizullah Amin was an Afghan politician, teacher, and communist revolutionary. He is credited with co-founding the Democratic Republic of Afghanistan. He is best remembered for his service as the Minister of Foreign Affairs from 1 May 1978 to 28 July 1979. An influential politician, Hafizullah Amin also served as the Minister of National Defence in 1979.
